I lead Cyber AI & Automation, focused on helping cyber teams use AI and automation in practical ways to reduce risk, remove manual effort and improve how quickly we can respond. A big part of my role is understanding how AI is changing the threat landscape, including frontier models, autonomous agents and AI-enabled attack techniques, then turning that into practical capability across people, process and technology.

Enterprise security architecture for cloud platforms. Led the work that helped AMP become the first APRA-regulated Australian financial services organisation to run production workloads on AWS.
About the work
I’ve worked in cyber security since 2008 and in technology for more than 30 years, with experience across enterprise security architecture, cloud security, threat intelligence, assurance, awareness and incident support.
I’m comfortable working from the technical detail through to boards and executives, and I’m often brought in to explain complex issues clearly and help people make practical decisions.
I also stay hands-on with AI, experimenting with frontier and open models, autonomous agents, integrations and automations so I can see first-hand what works, what doesn’t and where the risks are. I write about AI security, autonomous agents, cyber threats and emerging technology at philiphall.com.
Outside work, I advocate for Australians living with type 1 diabetes through writing, public speaking and engagement with policymakers.
